Hi ... this tutorial is for a fun sketch . not a professional painting so let's get start it ...
In this work i just use chalk brush and soft round brush set to opacity .
Ok First step : Just play with b&w with chalk brush ... It's not very important what you want to paint , just play , some times when
i want to do a sketch i close my eyes . so just play .

Next step : Create a new layer set to color mode ( layer palette) . attention to deapth .Far steps has lots of effects from sky color .

Next : Add some basic textures in a new layer set to overlay mode . you can use stamp tool some where on it . play with your composition .

Next : Ok . Here create a new layer and put soft round brush and add some shadow where need it . and put the chalk brush and paint over the textures over the layers in a new layer . chalk brush is my favorite brush in photoshop .

waterfall : I paint the water fall with soft round brush set to opacity and scatter .
Next : Adding first details ...

Next : This step is very important . Here i play with lighting ( curves , level , brightness contrast)

Next : Here you can use some water texture . but i paint most of them on the waterfall with chalk brush . ( over painting on textures)
I like my images have contrast ( it make them powerful i think) ... For particles you can use chalk brush set to opacity and scatter and make the brush so small !or you can use some brushe like spot and set it to scatter and opacity .

Fainal image : i paint the clouds with soft round brush set to opacity and scatter in a new layer . when it finish you can merge the layers and put dodge and burn tool and use them when ever it need for more effects .
